Our Vineyard

Huntington River Vineyard is situated on the sloping hills of Galloping Hill Farm in Huntington, Vermont.
Former hayfields and pastures are now growing grapevines – currently nine different varieties all considered to be ‘cold hardy’.
These grapes can withstand the cold temperatures of Vermont down to -35 below 0.  We chose these varieties when we planted knowing our hillside temperatures can often reach sub-zero during our long winters.  While these grapes have names you might not yet be familiar with, they do make wonderful wines, some of them ‘award winning.’ Starting in the Spring and throughout the Summer and Fall we plan some fun events here at the farm.  Keep tuned in to the Events Page and FACEBOOK for our calendar listings.

Our vines look great. The spring weather is making everything pop out and now we just hope to miss any May frosts. The first pruning was in April and we will be pruning for a second pruning time in June after all frost worries are behind us. We have lots of activities planned for the summer so stay tuned. Upcoming events will be posted here and on facebook.
